About Cormac

I used to work in a job which had little room for imagination, but my hobby was working with wood and copper then silver. This later developed into a largely self-taught business nearly 40 years ago. I went to the Art College but found the course not answering my needs, so I attended courses in Wales and in Scotland. I was then in the National Craft Trade Fair in the RDS in Dublin for a few years and was lucky enough to win the IDA Trophy for my range of silver products.

After getting married, I started a small environmentally friendly jewellery school in my back garden! From my own experience I realised that there was another way of teaching jewellery to people who are already interested.

I have run my small boutique craft jewellery school for many years, working in sterling silver, the new fine silver clay and lead free enamels. Each student has their own projects and dreams which they try to make come true. The course suits those starting from scratch or those with more experienced up grading their skills! The school is small, so it's mainly one to one teaching! There are no acids, polishing can done safely with a vibratory tumbler. Many past students have set up their own businesses afterwards.
